Connecting Less Annoying CRM to ReferralPulse

If you run your business in Less Annoying CRM (LACRM), connecting it to ReferralPulse keeps your referral records in step with your pipeline. Contacts you choose to bring in become partners, pipeline item status changes update the matching referral automatically, and your notes from LACRM show up right on the partner's timeline here, so your assistant has the same context you do.

The connection is read-only. ReferralPulse reads your contacts, pipeline items, and notes from LACRM. It never creates or edits anything in your LACRM account.

Less Annoying CRM doesn't offer sign-in with an authorize screen the way some CRMs do, so this connection works a little differently: you create a key inside LACRM yourself and paste it in.

Connecting your Less Annoying CRM account

Where to find it: Top-right avatar menu → Settings → Integrations tab → CRM & Practice Management → Less Annoying CRM → Connect.

Clicking Connect doesn't send you anywhere. It opens a small form right there on the Settings page asking for an API key. Here's how to get one:

  1. Sign in to Less Annoying CRM in another tab.
  2. Go to Settings, then Programmer API.
  3. Create a new key, and give it read-only permission. ReferralPulse never writes anything back to LACRM, so a read-only key is all it needs.
  4. Copy the key.

Back in ReferralPulse, paste the key into the field and click Connect. ReferralPulse checks the key against your LACRM account right away, so a bad or partial paste is caught immediately with an inline message telling you to try again. Once it's accepted, the Less Annoying CRM row flips to the green Connected state showing your account name, and a dialog opens so you can choose which contacts to bring in as partners.

Your API key is encrypted before it's stored and is never shown again after you connect. If you ever need to reconnect, you'll create a fresh key the same way.

Tip

If Less Annoying CRM rejects the key, double check you copied the whole thing. Programmer API keys are long, and a partial copy/paste is the most common reason a connection is refused.

What gets synced

Once Less Annoying CRM is connected, here's what happens.

Contacts you choose become partners. Right after you connect, and any time you click Sync on the Less Annoying CRM row afterward, you'll see the contacts from your LACRM account and pick which ones you want tracked as partners here. This is a manual choice, not a constant background copy of your whole contact list, so your network here only has the people you actually want in it. Company records in LACRM aren't included, only individual contacts are.

Pipeline item status updates the linked referral. When you drop a referred client onto a pipeline in LACRM, your assistant looks for a matching received referral and links them automatically when it's confident, or sends you a one-tap suggestion when the match is less certain. Once linked, moving that pipeline item to a status like "Closed - Won" or "Not Interested" updates the referral's status here to match, in real time. The change shows up on the referral's activity timeline so it's clear the update came from Less Annoying CRM.

Because LACRM lets you name your pipeline statuses however you like, your assistant reads the status name to figure out whether it means the deal was won, lost, or is still open. Standard names like "Won," "Closed - Lost," or "Signed" are recognized. An unusual or custom status name that doesn't clearly say won or lost is left as open, so it's worth keeping an eye on a referral if your pipeline statuses use wording your assistant might not recognize.

Your notes land on the partner's timeline. Everything you write as a note against a contact in Less Annoying CRM syncs onto that partner's Activity tab here, usually within about half an hour. This gives your assistant the same context you've already captured in LACRM, so it can bring it up when you're prepping for a meeting or asking about that partner. A note you edit after it's already synced won't update here automatically. Editing a note in LACRM doesn't currently flow through to ReferralPulse, so treat what's here as the version at the time it was written.

Auto-link only fires for received referrals. Pipeline items you create for clients you sourced yourself, not through a referral partner, are never auto-linked and never touched.

Disconnecting Less Annoying CRM

Where to find it: Settings → Integrations → CRM & Practice Management → Less Annoying CRM → Disconnect.

Disconnect asks you to confirm, then stops the sync. Your existing pipeline links and the sync history already written into the referral activity timeline are preserved, since they're part of the referral record on this side. Your synced partners and the notes already on their timelines stay too. Reconnecting later means creating a new API key in LACRM and pasting it in again.

On the iOS app

You can check whether Less Annoying CRM is connected from your phone, but the connect, sync, and disconnect actions live on the web app today. Open Settings → Integrations on the web to make the change.

The status sync and notes sync run in the background regardless of which device you're on, so a pipeline item you close out in LACRM on your laptop can show up reflected on a referral you open in the iOS app shortly after.

Tip

Ask your assistant in the AI Chat something like "what's the latest on the Whitfield referral," and it can pull in both the referral status and the most recent note synced from Less Annoying CRM. No tab-switching to check.
