Introduction Suggestions, two people who should meet

You talk with a lot of people, by email and in meetings. Some of them are working on things that fit each other, and you are the only one who knows both. Your assistant watches for those pairs and suggests you introduce them, with one line on why.

Either person can be someone who is not a partner yet. Your assistant looks only at your own email and your own recorded meetings, never at anyone else's account.

Where to Find Them

Where to find it: Sidebar → Introductions → the Suggestions tab.

The list is headed Introduce These Two, with a count of the pairs waiting. Each card shows:

  • Both people, with their title and company when you have them on file, or their email when you do not.
  • Why they fit, in one sentence.
  • Where it came from: the meetings and emails behind the suggestion. Click a meeting to open its page. Click an email to open that conversation in your mailbox.

New suggestions also show up in your Daily Brief, on the Tasks page, and in the notes email after a meeting. On a meeting's page, the Ways to help tab lists any pair that meeting helped find.

Make the Introduction

Click Make the intro. The introduction screen opens with both people filled in and a draft already written from what each of them has been working on. The draft speaks in general terms and never repeats anything private from your emails or meetings. Read it over, change anything you like, and send it, or choose Yes, check first to ask each of them before it goes out.

If neither person is a partner yet, the first one is saved as a contact when you click Make the intro, so the introduction has somewhere to live. Nobody is added to your contacts until you click.

Rate the Match

The thumbs on the left of each card tell your assistant how good the match is, whatever you decide to do about it.

  • Thumbs up marks it a good match. The card stays, so you can still make the intro later. Click it again to take the rating back.
  • Thumbs down marks it a bad match and removes the card. That pair will not be suggested again.

Your ratings tell us how well these suggestions are working, so we can make them better. Making the intro counts as a good match too, so you do not need to rate the ones you act on.

Dismiss a Suggestion

Not every good match is one you want to make. Dismiss removes the card without saying anything about the match. That pair will not be suggested again.

Thumbs down and Dismiss both show an Undo for a few seconds in case you clicked by mistake.

Tip

The more of your meetings your assistant sits in on, the better these get. A suggestion often starts with something a person said in a meeting months ago that suddenly fits someone you emailed this week.

Who Gets Suggestions

Introduction Suggestions are part of the Producer and Rainmaker plans. On Connector, the Suggestions tab shows a sample of what it looks like.
